Production workshop

Production workshop

The workshop is the basic unit for the organisation of production within the enterprise, and is also the first level of organisation for the administrative management of production. It consists of a number of sections or production teams. It is set up according to the professional nature of each stage of product production or product components and the professional nature of each auxiliary production activity within the enterprise, and has the necessary plant or site, machinery and equipment, tools and certain production personnel, technicians and management personnel to complete the production tasks. The workshop has four characteristics: (1) It is a gathering place for all the elements of productivity, formed in accordance with the principle of specialisation. (2) It is an intermediate link in the management of the enterprise between the factory and the production team. (3) The product of the workshop is generally a semi-finished product (except for the finished product workshop) or an internal product of the enterprise, rather than a commodity. (4) The workshop is not an independent commodity production and operation unit, and generally does not have direct external economic links.
